Rutgers University Correctional Health Care is seeking a Part‑Time Technician I for Midstate Correctional Facility located in Wrightstown, NJ. The Technician I participates as a member of the clinical and administrative medical team at the prison.
Responsibilities- Takes vital signs, height and weight and documents in electronic medical records (EMR).
- Assists the physician/associate practitioner with procedures, including preparing the inmate for the examination.
- Obtains specimen collection and handling, including, but not limited to, drawing blood.
- Assists with the cleaning, sterilization and securing of equipment within the Health Service Unit.
- Maintains or assists in maintaining the supply stock in the Health Service Unit by ordering in a timely and appropriate manner.
- Maintains the supply stock in the examination rooms.
- Aggregates the orders of all medications and forwards to the pharmacy provider / local pharmacy.
- Valid Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), or Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) certification.
- At least two (2) years of progressively more responsible related healthcare experience involving multiple areas of knowledge, skill and abilities.
- CPR certification.
- Valid driver’s license and own vehicle or alternative means of transportation from one site to another.
- Physical capacity to perform CPR for at least 10 minutes.
- Ability to assist in lifting and rotating patients who are unable to ambulate (up to 50 pounds).
- Approval by the Department of Corrections (DOC) and adherence to all DOC requirements.
- Minimum Salary: $20,410.00
- Mid‑Range Salary: $20,910.00
- Maximum Salary: $21,540.00

Part‑time, 20 hours per week. Full onsite work arrangement. Standard hours 40.00. Daily work shift: day.
