Salary Details The salary range for this position is $95,000-$110,000, commensurate with experience.

Posting Summary
The Edward J. Bloustein School of Planning and Public Policy seeks to hire a full-time, tenure-track Assistant Professor for appointment beginning July 2027. We seek a scholar whose research advances the design, evaluation, and responsible use of artificial intelligence, information systems, data, and computational methods to improve health and healthcare. We welcome candidates whose work spans clinical informatics, public health informatics, consumer health informatics, quantitative medicine or biomedical data science.
Specific areas of interest include expertise in:
- Clinical decision support and electronic health record data science
- Machine learning and AI in health care, including design, evaluation, bias, and safety
- Health data interoperability and standards
- Population and public health informatics, including social determinants of health and built environment effects
- Digital health, mobile health, and patient-facing technologies
- Causal inference and evaluation of health technologies
- Learning health systems and implementation science
- Ethics, privacy, and governance of health data
- Agentic AI solutions for healthcare
The faculty member will teach in both the Master of Public Informatics and Health Administration Programs (which includes an undergraduate program, a Master’s of Health Administration, and a Doctorate in Health Administration).

Qualifications
Minimum Education and Experience
By June 1, 2027, hold a doctoral degree in health informatics, health administration, biomedical informatics, computer science, data science, public health, economics, or a related field, and a commitment to excellence in teaching and mentoring.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Be able to clearly establish a research profile of refereed research in high-impact journals and through national and international conference presentations.
- Demonstrate experience and skill working with real-world clinical or public health data
- Demonstrate willingness to secure external grant funds and the ability to be a team leader on funded research, supporting and supervising doctoral students and postdoctoral associates.
- Demonstrate potential for excellence in teaching, with knowledge of inclusive and active teaching practices.
- Collaborate with colleagues across the university, health systems, and community partners.
- Demonstrate a willingness to network with external stakeholders and to communicate with the public via social media and other sources.
