Job Summary

The Senior BI Engineer will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining our end-to-end Business Intelligence infrastructure. This role focuses on transforming raw data into actionable insights through robust ETL processes, sophisticated data modeling, and high-performance reporting systems. The ideal candidate brings a deep technical mastery of the Microsoft SQL Server stack (SSIS/SSRS) combined with the ability to use Python for advanced data manipulation and automation.

Responsibilities
  • Database Development & Optimization:
    Design and maintain complex SQL Server objects, including stored procedures, views, functions, and triggers. Proactively identify and optimize slow-running queries to ensure peak system performance.
  • ETL Architecture (SSIS):
    Architect, develop, and deploy scalable SSIS packages. Manage data extraction and transformation from diverse sources, including SQL Server, Oracle, Flat Files, APIs, and Excel, into the centralized Data Warehouse.
  • Reporting & Visualization (SSRS):
    Create and manage sophisticated SSRS reporting solutions, including parameterized, drill-down, and matrix reports. Oversee report subscriptions and automated delivery schedules to ensure stakeholders receive timely data.
  • Data Modeling:
    Lead the design and implementation of star and snowflake schemas. Ensure the Data Warehouse architecture supports complex OLAP requirements and long-term reporting scalability.
  • Advanced Data Processing (Python):
    Leverage Python (Pandas and Num Py) for complex data cleaning, multi-source merging, and generating pivot-style aggregations from raw SQL or API feeds that exceed standard SQL capabilities.
  • System Maintenance & Troubleshooting:
    Monitor scheduled SQL Agent jobs and SSIS package executions. Act as the primary point of contact for troubleshooting ETL failures and resolving data integrity issues.
Qualifications
  • Education:

    Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience:

    Minimum of 6 years of professional experience in Business Intelligence, Data Warehousing, or Database Engineering.
  • Technical Mastery:
    Expert-level proficiency in TSQL and the Microsoft BI Stack (SSIS, SSRS). Strong hands-on experience with Python specifically for data analysis (Pandas/Num Py). Proven experience in designing relational and dimensional data models.
  • Analytical

    Skills:

    Strong ability to troubleshoot complex data pipelines and translate business requirements into technical specifications.
  • Communication:
    Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to document technical workflows and present data insights to stakeholders.
  • Soft Skills:

    Proven ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple high-priority projects simultaneously.
