IT Project Manager, SAP Consultant
Sr. Director, ERP Product & Platform
DePuy Synthes (a Johnson & Johnson company) is seeking a senior director to lead the technologically complex SAP platform strategy, governance, and operations across multiple SAP ECC and S/4 instances. This role will partner with cross‑functional leaders in Finance, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Quality, Regulatory, and IT to modernize and rationalize platforms, strengthen data analytics, and deliver measurable business value.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the end‑to‑end technology strategy, architecture, delivery, and operations of the SAP platform across multiple instances in alignment with enterprise priorities.
- Make prioritization decisions that balance regulatory, operational, and strategic initiatives while maximizing business value and meeting critical Day1 and TSA exit separation objectives.
- Establish and operate the SAP COE governance model, including product and platform architecture standards, budgets, and vendor & partner management.
- Manage SAP and SI/managed services partner relationships, licensing strategy, and contract performance.
- Support SAP capabilities for Supply Chain, Manufacturing, and Quality, aligned to business priorities and regulatory requirements.
- Apply AI and automation to modernize platforms and operations at scale, including code remediation, automated testing, and related initiatives.
- Ensure regulatory, data integrity, and cybersecurity compliance across all technology platforms.
- Build, develop, and inspire a high‑performing global technology organization, including internal teams (on‑shore and offshore) and strategic partners.
- Champion continuous improvement, innovation, and standardization to enable a resilient and future‑ready SAP ecosystem.
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Engineering, Supply Chain, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
- 12–14 years of progressive experience planning, designing, delivering, and supporting enterprise SAP applications and platforms.
- Experience leading, architecting, and supporting SAP platforms including SAP ECC, SAP S/4, SAP BTP, satellite solutions, and integration with non‑SAP boundary solutions.
- Experience delivering SAP Center of Excellence services (BASIS, ABAP, SAP IS, BTP, change/transport & landscape management, security, archiving, data migration).
- Demonstrated success leading large‑scale, global technology programs and complex transformations, including migration to SAP S/4.
- Experience in a highly regulated Life Sciences industry with strong compliance and validation expectations.
- People leadership experience, including building diverse, inclusive, and high‑performing teams and establishing offshore delivery teams.
- Strong financial acumen with experience managing multi‑year technology budgets.
- Change leadership experience in large, matrixed organizations.
- English proficiency required; travel up to 20% domestic & international.
- Experience supporting complex medical device supply chain and manufacturing environments.
- Knowledge of niche requirements such as loaner and service‑and‑repair environments.
- Experience managing global system integrators and strategic technology vendors.
- IT, SAP, supply‑chain, or program‑management certifications (e.g., PMP, ITIL).
- Additional language skills.
