Posting SummaryRutgers is seeking a Senior Analyst for the Data Strategy Office within The New Brunswick Chancellor’s Budget Office. The Analyst will provide analytical support for data use strategy, lead institutional data compilation, analysis, visualization, and reporting, and work closely with academic and administrative communities.
Key Responsibilities- Provide analytical support for data use strategy across the university.
- Collaborate with the Associate Vice Chancellor – Data Strategy to compile data and reports essential for decision making.
- Lead institutional data compilation, analyses, visualizations, internal reporting, and data management and governance.
- Partner with school/college leaders and administrative units to identify data elements and analytics tools, addressing institutional questions and communicating results to diverse audiences.
- Adapt quickly to understand unique business and operational constraints, resolving challenges with data analysis expertise and appropriate analytical techniques.
- Work independently with minimal supervision, exercising creativity and discretion.
- Bachelor’s degree with a strong emphasis on quantitative skills, systems and data analytics.
- At least three years’ experience in a data‑related role within institutional research, enterprise analytics, or a related office, fulfilling data requests, building dashboards, and compiling summary reports.
- Proficiency and experience using data warehouses and various reporting and statistical analysis tools.
- Experience with data extraction tools such as SQL, SAS, R, Python; data analysis tools such as SPSS; and data visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI.
- Experience with higher‑education administrative/student information systems and a technical understanding of data warehousing and mining.
- Demonstrated expertise with MS Excel.
- Master’s degree with an emphasis on data analytics and data systems.
- Experience with SIS and reporting systems.
Salary range: $94,047 – $143,887 per year (Grade 06, Exempt). Position:
Full time, 37.50 standard hours per week. Additional benefits include Union membership (Admin Assembly MPSC), pension eligibility (ABP), and a 12‑month staff appointment.
