Business System Analyst II – Enterprise Applications & Research Computing

The Business System Analyst II provides oversight, planning, and support of the Document Management (Perceptive Content, Docusign) and Banner SIS suite of applications and integrations with other University systems.

Responsibilities
  • Work with University departments to understand their requirements through site visits, interviews, analysis, and documentation, considering legal, security, and compliance requirements.
  • Lead the gathering and assessment of clients' IT business needs and requirements, providing gap and future recommendations to improve business processes and efficiency.
  • Act as the client’s liaison with OIT and outside vendors, contractors, and consultants to define and establish IT service and support requirements, facilitating interaction between stakeholders and resolving conflicts.
  • Advocate for the technology needs of the client, building OIT’s understanding of clients’ strategies, goals, and processes, and communicating OIT’s technology strategies, plans, and status.
  • Analyze and identify the operational and financial impacts of new solutions and service requests, including the value to OIT and the return‑on‑investment for the University.
  • Gather, analyze, and evaluate business systems and user needs, identifying strengths and weaknesses to determine opportunities to automate processes and functions.
  • Document high‑level business requirements into functional specifications for OIT and manage changes to such specifications.
  • Negotiate agreements and commitments by facilitating communication between business units and OIT, from initial requirements to final implementation.
  • Keep abreast of technological trends and bring solutions that enhance the enterprise’s competitive edge.
  • Make recommendations for buy versus build decisions.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Equivalent education, experience, and/or training may substitute the degree requirement.
  • A minimum of five (5) years relevant technical or business/industry work experience with enterprise electronic document management (EDM/ECM), enterprise resource planning (ERP), and student information system (SIS).
  • Experience with system integrations, data mapping, testing, troubleshooting, and production support.
  • Familiarity with integration tools, APIs, flatfile transfers, SSO, and middleware.
  • Experience testing system changes, upgrades, and interface enhancements.
  • In‑depth knowledge of business strategy and operations, strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
  • Knowledge of PC, distributed computing environments, and integrated communications concepts.
  • Understanding of programming tools, methodologies, and concepts.
  • Familiarity with SQL, reporting tools, or data analysis concepts.
  • Strong client relationship management skills.
  • Ability to develop quality functional and technical documentation.
  • Excellent oral/written communication and interpersonal skills, capable of functioning effectively in a team environment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with configuration, administration, and support of Perceptive Content.
  • Experience with configuration, administration, and support of Banner.
  • Experience with administration and support of Docusign.
  • Image Now System Administration Training (ISAT) or Perceptive Content Administrator Professional level or higher certification.
  • Experience with workflow automation, form routing, approvals, and lifecycle process optimization.
