Overview

We are seeking a Manager, TPO Portfolio and Project Management at DePuy Synthes (a Johnson & Johnson company). The role focuses on Portfolio and Project Management technology products supporting R&D and Supply Chain product development and projects. The position partners with R&D, Quality, Regulatory, Supply Chain, and IT stakeholders to align technology investments with business priorities and regulatory requirements, accelerating innovation and improving end‑to‑end decision making.

Raritan, New Jersey;
West Chester, Pennsylvania;
Palm Beach Gardens, Florida;
Raynham, Massachusetts;
Warsaw, Indiana. This role is part of the broader DePuy Synthes integration and may involve subsequent changes in employment terms as the planned separation progresses.

Responsibilities
  • Own the product vision, roadmap, and backlog for assigned Portfolio and Project Management technology platforms, ensuring cross‑functional alignment.
  • Partner with R&D, Supply Chain, and other cross‑functional teams to gather requirements and translate them into clear user stories and acceptance criteria.
  • Lead prioritization decisions to balance business value, compliance, and delivery timelines.
  • Serve as the primary point of accountability for product performance, lifecycle management, and continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with development teams to support agile delivery, including sprint planning, backlog refinement, and release readiness.
  • Drive continuous improvement of portfolio management processes, tools, and governance models.
  • Monitor product outcomes and KPIs to ensure solutions deliver measurable value to cross‑functional teams.
  • Demonstrate Johnson & Johnson’s Credo and leadership behaviors in all interactions.
  • Lead the application of AI, analytics, and automation to modernize R&D platforms and accelerate product development while ensuring compliance and scalability from discovery through lifecycle management.
Qualifications

Education: Bachelor’s degree required (Information Systems, Engineering, Computer Science, or related field). Master’s degree (MBA or relevant technical discipline) preferred.

Experience and

Skills Required:

  • 6–8 years of experience in technology, digital product management, or clinical systems, with experience at the manager or senior individual contributor level.
  • Proven experience as a product owner or product manager for enterprise technology solutions.
  • Strong ability to translate business needs into technology requirements.
  • Demonstrated stakeholder management and cross‑functional collaboration skills and influence without authority.
  • Experience working in regulated industries (e.g., medical devices, pharmaceuticals, life sciences).
  • Experience working with agile or hybrid delivery methodologies.
  • Preferred:
    Experience supporting R&D Product Development technology platforms within a global organization.
  • Familiarity with Agile, SAFe, or hybrid delivery models in an enterprise IT environment.
  • Experience with portfolio and project management tools and financial tracking.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving capabilities.
  • Ability to influence without authority in a matrixed organization.

Other: Language:
English proficiency required. Travel:
Up to 10–15%, primarily domestic.

Certifications:

Product Owner, Agile, or Project Management certifications (preferred).
