The Division of Institutional Planning & Operations (IP&O) employs a workforce of approximately 2,700 staff, represented by 15 collective negotiation agreements, and is responsible for institutional strategic initiatives and operations across the State of New Jersey. Responsibilities include planning and construction, facilities, public safety and emergency operations, environmental health and safety, transportation, housing, and auxiliary/retail operations.

Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Special Services & Grounds Worker - Housing for the Division of Institutional Planning & Operations (IP&O).

• Performs diversified maintenance and grounds duties involving the preparation of campus facilities and the maintenance of equipment and grounds in multipurpose areas of the University.
• Operates power equipment and drives University vehicles.

FLSA Status: Nonexempt

Grade: 10

Salary Range: $34,469.77 – $46,334.85 (minimum to maximum)

Status: Full Time

Working Hours: 40 hours per week (40.00 standard)

Work Arrangement: Fully on‑site

• Ability to read and speak English commensurate with job duties.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.

• Valid driver’s license required.
• Minimum two years driving experience.
• Successful completion of the Rutgers Defensive Driving Course.

• One year of experience in the landscaping industry with knowledge of tools, methods, and materials used in grounds maintenance.
