Compo under – 2nd Shift (Spray) Job Description

This 2nd shift Compo under role focuses on accurately preparing, mixing, and processing chemical and food-related ingredients using spray, liquid, powder, homogenizing, and spray dry methods. The position plays a key role in maintaining high quality and food safety standards by following detailed batch instructions, documenting all work, and supporting cross-functional production teams.

• Retrieve ingredients and raw materials from designated storage areas and verify their accuracy before use.
• Measure ingredients precisely using scales and other measuring devices to ensure adherence to batch formulas and specifications.
• Mix various ingredients according to standard batch instructions, including dyes and other substances, and load them into the appropriate equipment.
• Identify solids that require melting and safely melt them using hot plates or other approved methods.
• Identify ingredients that require dilution, dilute them appropriately, and record all raw material usage accurately.
• Maintain quality standards by verifying the weight and contents of raw materials prior to processing.
• Conduct in-process batch inspections to monitor consistency, appearance, and performance throughout the compounding process.
• Document all process events, including measurements, adjustments, inspections, and material usage, in accordance with established procedures and policies.
• Process materials using liquid, powder, homogenizing, and spray dry compounding methods as required by production schedules.
• Follow standard batch instructions carefully to ensure accurate weighing and addition of dyes and other substances into compounding equipment.
• Check for consistency across various batches and measure the viscosity of mixtures to confirm they meet product specifications.
• Collect samples from batches and deliver them to the laboratory for testing and quality verification.
• Follow food safety guidelines and maintain accurate documentation of all completed work to support regulatory and quality compliance.
• Adhere to Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) standards and follow all safety and sanitation protocols.
• Wear the required uniform and personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times while working in production areas.
• Collaborate with cross-functional team members in a production environment to meet output, quality, and safety goals.

• 6 months to 1 year of compounding experience with powders and raw materials in a production or manufacturing environment.
• Hands-on experience with chemical mixing, compounding, and batch making processes.
• Experience working in a GMP-regulated environment and consistently following safety and sanitation protocols.
• Ability to handle and blend raw materials accurately and safely.
• Strong attention to detail when measuring ingredients, verifying weights, and following batch instructions.
• Ability to perform in-process inspections, including checking batch consistency and measuring viscosity.
• Capability to document process events and material usage clearly and accurately.
• Comfort working with hot plates, scales, and other production equipment.
• Commitment to following food safety guidelines and established procedures.
• Willingness to wear a uniform and proper PPE throughout the shift.

This is a Permanent position based out of New Brunswick, NJ.

The pay range for this position is $57200.00 - $57200.00/yr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
