Job Overview

RWJBarnabas Health is seeking a highly dedicated Registered Nurse for our Orthopedics Unit at the New Brunswick campus. Orthopedics is a 16 bed unit specializing in trauma, bariatrics, vascular, and general surgery. The unit addresses a wide range of musculoskeletal conditions and procedures. RWJBarnabas Health has received industry recognition for orthopedics and surgery programs and is recognized for high-quality orthopedic care.

Qualifications

Required:

  • ASN or Nursing Diploma
  • At least 1 year of RN experience
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Proficient computer skills

Preferred:

  • BSN or must be completed within 5 years upon hire

Certifications and Licenses

Required:

  • BLS and ACLS certification
  • Active New Jersey Registered Nurse License

Scheduling Requirements:

  • Night Shift
  • Monday - Friday, some weekend and holiday rotation
  • Per Diem
Essential Functions
  • The Registered Nurse provides nursing care within the scope of practice defined by the Nurse Practice Act and regulatory standards, and adheres to ANA code of ethics.
  • The Registered Nurse maintains safety in practice and advances knowledge through communication with and utilization of available resources and programs.
  • The Registered Nurse reports identified safety issues, such as hazardous environments and medical errors.
  • The Registered Nurse has knowledge of the patient population served.
  • The Registered Nurse supervises and directs delegation of tasks to appropriate team members and collaborates with other care providers.
  • The Registered Nurse sets and evaluates priorities with measurable outcomes toward improvement.
  • The Registered Nurse uses the nursing process to integrate care and individualizes the plan of care for each patient.
