Job OverviewRWJBarnabas Health is seeking a highly dedicated Registered Nurse for our Post Coronary Care Unit at the New Brunswick campus. 5 Tower is a 31-bed telemetry unit. Nursing care is provided to adult cardiac and acute care medical surgical patients ages 18 years through the lifespan. Patients cared for on this unit include but are not limited to post cardiac catheterization, post device placement, heart failure, and management and care of adult cystic fibrosis.
Patient care includes frequent physical assessments, post operative care, administration of blood products, dressing changes, chest physiotherapy, and selected respiratory treatments.
- The Registered Nurse provides nursing care within the scope of practice defined by the Nurse Practice Act and regulatory standards, and adheres to ANA ethics.
- Ensure safety in practice by applying evidence-based principles and communicating with and utilizing resources to advance knowledge of self and others on the patient care team.
- Report identified safety issues such as hazardous environments and medical errors.
- Maintain knowledge of the patient population served.
- Supervise and direct delegation of tasks to appropriate team members and collaborate with other patient care providers.
- Set and evaluate priorities through appropriate interventions with measurable outcomes toward improvement.
- Utilize the nursing process to integrate all aspects of care and individualize the plan of care to address specific patient needs as an interdisciplinary team manager.
Required:
- ASN or Nursing Diploma
- At least 1 year of RN experience in Critical Care
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Proficient computer skills
Preferred:
- BSN or must be completed within 5 years upon hire
- At least 1 year of experience in a telemetry acute care setting (preferred)
- BLS and ACLS certification
- Active New Jersey Registered Nurse License
- Day Shift, 24 hours per week, 7a-7:30p
- Monday - Friday, some weekend and holiday rotation
- Part-Time
