RWJBarnabas Health is seeking a highly dedicated Registered Nurse for our Renal Transplant Unit at the New Brunswick campus. Kidney/Pancreas Transplant Unit I is a 20‑bed Med‑Surg Unit where the RN provides care to adult patients with a wide range of medical conditions or those recovering from kidney/pancreas transplant surgery.
Qualifications Required:- ASN or Nursing Diploma
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Proficient computer skills
- BSN or must be completed within 5 years upon hire
- At least 1‑3 years of kidney/pancreas transplant experience preferred
- BLS and ACLS certification
- Active New Jersey Registered Nurse License
- Day Shift, 36 hours per week, 7:00‑7:30 p.m.
- Monday – Friday, some weekend and holiday rotation
- PT
- The Registered Nurse provides nursing care within the scope of practice defined by the Nurse Practice Act and regulatory standards, ensuring adherence to ethical standards as defined by the ANA code of ethics.
- The RN assures safety in practice, incorporates evidence‑based practice principles, and maintains an up‑to‑date knowledge base, advancing knowledge for self and others through communication and resource utilization.
- The RN reports identified safety issues such as hazardous environments and medical errors.
- The RN maintains knowledge of the patient population served.
- The RN supervises and directs delegation of tasks to appropriate team members and collaborates with other patient‑care providers.
- The RN consistently sets and evaluates priorities through appropriate interventions with measurable outcomes toward improvement.
- The RN serves as an individual practitioner and interdisciplinary team manager, utilizing the nursing process to integrate all aspects of care and individualize the plan of care for specific patient needs.
