American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a PICU position requiring a minimum of 2 years of experience, advanced critical care skills, and a NJ or Compact RN license.
Responsibilities- Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) setting within a hospital environment
- Patient ratios of 1:1–2 for intensive care and 1:3 for intermediate care
- Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts (19:00–07:30)
- Required to work every other weekend and 2 of 3 applicable holidays
- May float to adolescents, pediatrics, PHOC, and NICU
- Charting in Epic (experience preferred)
- Required skills include: CVP, CVVH, hemodynamic monitoring, EKG interpretation and management, PEWs, insulin administration/pumps, NG tube placement and management, IV access (ports, a-lines, central lines, PICCs), procedural sedation, IV vasopressors, EVD, VP shunt, ICP monitoring, HFNC, ETT, vents/trachs, renal failure management, peritoneal dialysis, wound care, and trauma
- ECMO experience preferred
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Local candidates are accepted at the same rate — no radius restriction
- Former RWJBH staff (full-time or PRN) must have been separated from the RWJBH health system for a minimum of 1 year before being eligible for a travel assignment
- 13-week contract
- Active NJ or Compact RN license required
- Minimum 2 years of PICU or pediatric critical care RN experience required
- Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, and IV Certification
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification preferred
- Must complete a Peripheral IV and Central Line Education Package prior to starting (11 contact hours)
- SSN and DOB required for consideration
- Two current professional references required
- Copy of all certifications required
