OverviewRWJBarnabas Health is seeking a highly dedicated Registered Nurse for our Post Intensive Care Unit III at the New Brunswick campus. Post Intensive Care Unit III is also known as the Respiratory Care Unit. It is comprised of 19 beds with bedside monitors and the capability for step-down ICU/progressive care. We care for a wide array of medical patients including ALS, chronic ventilator patients, pneumonia, and alcohol withdrawal.

Pay Range: $47.85 - $71.72 per hour

Hours:
36 hours per week, day shift;
Monday – Friday with some weekend and holiday rotation

Responsibilities- The Registered Nurse provides nursing care within the scope of practice defined by the Nurse Practice Act and regulatory standards, upholding ethical standards as defined by the ANA code of ethics.
- Maintain safety in practice and apply evidence-based practice principles; communicate with and utilize resources and programs available to advance knowledge of self and the patient care team.
- Report identified safety issues, hazardous environments, and medical errors.
- Demonstrate knowledge of the patient population served and collaborate with other patient care providers.
- Supervise and direct delegation of tasks to appropriate team members; collaborate with the care team.
- Set and evaluate priorities through appropriate interventions with measurable outcomes toward improvement.
- Act as an individual practitioner and interdisciplinary team manager; utilize the nursing process to integrate care and individualize the plan of care for each patient.
- Required:
ASN or Nursing Diploma - Strong communication and organizational skills
- Proficient computer skills
- BSN or must be completed within 5 years of hire
- At least 1 year of RN experience
- Telemetry and intermediate care experience
- Previous ventilator experience
- BLS and ACLS certification
- Active New Jersey Registered Nurse License
