Position Title

Licensed Practical Nurse – Part‑Time, Day Shift – Adult Diagnostic Treatment Center (ADTC), Avenel, NJ

University Correctional Health Care (UCHC) provides physical, mental health, dental, and sex offender treatment services to individuals involved in the criminal justice system in New Jersey. The LPN will work in the Adult Diagnostic Treatment Center, delivering patient‑centered care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.

• Participate in data collection related to patients’ status and needs.
• Provide input to the Registered Nurse for incorporation into the plan of care by communicating information pertinent to the patient’s status.
• Deliver direct patient care within the scope of practice to ensure implementation of the plan of care.
• Inform and instruct patients or significant others on patient health, illness, and the plan of care.
• Assist patients or significant others in preparation for discharge and health maintenance at home.
• Document all aspects of patient care.

• Valid Licensed Practical Nurse registration in the State of New Jersey.
• CPR certification.
• Valid driver’s license; must possess own vehicle or alternative transportation between sites.

Preferred:
At least six (6) months of experience in an acute hospital setting.

• Must perform CPR for at least 10 minutes.
• Capable of lifting and rotating patients who are unable to ambulate (up to 50 pounds).

Must be approved by the Department of Corrections and adhere to all DOC requirements.

Minimum: $32,520;
Mid: $33,020;
Max: $34,010 per annum.

• Part‑time, 20 hours per week.

• Full onsite work arrangement.

• Staff – 12 month appointment.
