Licensed Practical Nurse Per Diem - UCHC Adult Diagnostic Treatment Center (Avenel, NJ)

The Licensed Practical Nurse provides technical nursing care under the direction of a Registered Nurse within a correctional environment. Key duties include:
- Participate in data collection related to patient status and needs.
- Provide input to the Registered Nurse to incorporate information into the plan of care.
- Administer direct patient care within scope of practice to implement the plan of care.
- Inform and instruct patients or significant others on health status and the plan of care.
- Assist patients or significant others in preparation for discharge and health maintenance at home.
- Document all aspects of patient care.
Hourly compensation: $29.00 per hour.
Qualifications Educational and Certification Requirements- Valid registration as a Licensed Practical Nurse in the State of New Jersey.
- CPR certification.
- Valid driver’s license; must possess own vehicle or alternative transportation to travel between sites.
- At least six (6) months of experience in an acute hospital setting.
- Medical, prescription drug, and dental coverage.

First responders must be able to perform CPR for at least ten minutes and physically lift or assist patients who cannot ambulate, up to 50 pounds.
Special ConditionsMust be approved by the Department of Corrections (DOC) and adhere to all DOC requirements.

Immunization RequirementsUnder Policy 100.3.1, employees starting during Flu Season may be required to provide proof of seasonal influenza vaccination unless a medical or religious exemption has been granted. Failure to provide proof or obtain an exemption may result in rescission of the offer of employment or disciplinary action up to termination.
