Job Overview: RWJBarnabas Health is seeking a Clinical Manager for our Heart Transplant Center at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital New Brunswick. The role oversees clinical and administrative operations for patient evaluation, care, and management, including supervision of medical personnel. The Clinical Manager collaborates with the Advanced Heart Failure Division management team to ensure continuity of care, uphold quality standards, and enhance patient satisfaction.

• Supervise and develop a multidisciplinary clinical staff, including RN nurse coordinators, nurse practitioners, medical assistants, and other personnel.
• Create a safe, positive, and inclusive workplace that promotes high-quality patient care.
• Conduct performance evaluations, provide coaching, and address disciplinary matters.
• Drive daily transplant program operations: patient evaluations, waitlist processes, pre‑ and post‑transplant care to ensure optimal efficiency and patient outcomes.
• Perform comprehensive case reviews, assess social determinants of health, and tailor care plans to meet individual patient needs.
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and primary caregivers, adapting interactions to developmental stage, education level, and literacy skills.
• Anticipate, mitigate, and resolve clinical area issues.
• Coordinate with organ donor organizations for referral, organ viability, and donation conversations, ensuring smooth transfer from referral to recovery and transport.
• Identify workflow improvement opportunities and eliminate inefficiencies, collaborating with nursing staff, physicians, other departments, and external partners.
• Assist in strategic marketing and business development initiatives using transplant data, and participate in outreach activities to grow the renal transplant program.
• Monitor performance metrics to drive program success.
• Develop, review, and revise departmental policies and procedures to ensure compliance with UNOS, OPTN, TJC, CMS, and other regulations.
• Provide education on clinical competency, patient care, and regulatory requirements.

• Required:
  
  Bachelor's degree in nursing; 5 years of allied health or hospital experience.
• Preferred:
  Master’s degree in a health‑care field; 2 years of organ transplant experience.

• Basic Life Support (BLS) through the American Heart Association (AHA).
• Licensed Registered Nurse in the state of New Jersey.
• CCTC Certified Clinical Transplant Coordinator (preferred).

• Monday through Friday.
• Hours:
  
  7:00 AM – 4:00 PM EST.
