Job DescriptionAs an RN on the Pediatric Float Pool Team, you will provide care for children and adolescents 0-21 years old across various pediatric units within the facility, including the pediatric intensive care unit, neonatal unit, general pediatric floor, and emergency department.
Qualifications- ASN or Nursing Diploma
- PALS certification
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Proficient computer skills
- 1 year of Pediatric Medical Surgical experience
- BSN or required to complete within 5 years upon hire
- Pediatric RN experience highly preferred
- Active New Jersey Registered Nurse License
- BLS and ACLS certification
- Night Shift, 36 hours per week, 7P-7:30AM
- Monday - Friday, with some weekend and holiday rotation
- PT (part-time)
- Provides nursing care in the health care system within the scope of practice defined by the Nurse Practice Act and regulatory standards, and assures awareness of ethical standards of practice as defined by the ANA code of ethics.
- Assures safety in practice and is inclusive of the principles of evidence-based practice by maintaining and applying knowledge and experience, and by communicating with and utilizing available resource persons and programs.
- Reports identified safety issues such as hazardous environments (e.g., damaged floors, walls, ceiling tiles, unsecured areas) and medical errors.
- Has knowledge of the patient population served.
- Supervises and directs delegation of tasks to appropriate team members and collaborates with other patient care providers.
- Consistently sets and evaluates priorities through appropriate interventions with measurable outcomes toward improvement.
- Serves as an individual practitioner and interdisciplinary team manager, applying the nursing process to integrate all aspects of care and individualize the plan of care for specific patients.
