NJ Palliative Care Solutions is hiring a part‑time Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to deliver hospital‑based palliative care at RWJ University Hospital for patients living with serious illness. A part‑time role here means a predictable schedule and benefits — not as‑needed coverage — with the full interdisciplinary team behind you. Coming from oncology, critical care, hospital medicine, hospice, or geriatrics? We offer a supported route into palliative practice.
Whyyou’ll want this role:
A set, recurring part‑time schedule (typically 2–4 days/week) — predictable hours and real work‑life balance.
Benefits eligibility (medical, 401(k), PTO, CME) — uncommon for flexible roles.
Mentorship and a structured ramp into palliative care — you won’t be thrown in alone.
Data‑driven coaching and a true interdisciplinary team.
Mission‑driven culture shaping how New Jersey delivers palliative care.
Deliver inpatient palliative care at RWJ University Hospital — assessments, symptom management, goals‑of‑care conversations, and family meetings.
Partner with the hospital’s care teams and the NJPCS interdisciplinary team.
Complete timely documentation aligned with NJPCS clinical, billing, and quality standards.
Active New Jersey Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant license and national board certification.
DEA + CDS registration, or ability to obtain by start date.
2+ years of relevant clinical experience preferred (palliative, hospice, geriatrics, oncology, critical care, or complex chronic care).
Palliative care certification (e.g., ACHPN / CHPN) preferred.
Strong communication, reliability, clinical judgment, and comfort working in interdisciplinary teams.
Pro‑rated from a $130,000–$160,000/year full‑time‑equivalent base, by scheduled hours.
Full benefits eligibility: medical / dental / vision, 401(k), PTO, CME allowance, and malpractice coverage.
A set, recurring schedule (typically 2–4 days/week) rather than as‑needed per diem coverage.
Structured onboarding, workflow guidance, and EMR/documentation support.
