Licensed Practical Nurse, Mental Health – Part Time

Part-Time Licensed Practical Nurse – Mental Health for Northern State Prison, Newark, NJ.

• Participates in data collection related to patient status and needs.
• Provides input to Registered Nurse for incorporation into the plan of care by communicating pertinent information.
• Delivers direct patient care within scope of practice to implement the plan of care.
• Informs and instructs patients/significant others on health and plan of care.
• Assists patient/significant other in discharge preparation and home health maintenance.
• Documents all aspects of patient care.

• Valid registration as a Licensed Practical Nurse in the State of New Jersey.
• CPR Certification required.
• Valid Driver's License and reliable transportation.
• Minimum six (6) months of experience in an acute hospital setting (preferred).

• Must be approved by Department of Corrections and adhere to all DOC requirements.
• First responder capacity to perform CPR for at least 10 minutes.
• Physically able to lift/rotate patients up to 50 pounds.
