Job Overview

RWJBarnabas Health is seeking a highly dedicated Registered Nurse for our Post Intensive Care Unit II at the New Brunswick campus.

Qualifications Required
  • ASN or Nursing Diploma
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Proficient computer skills
Preferred
  • BSN, or completion of BSN within 5 years upon hire
  • At least 2–3 years of Med/Surg or Telemetry RN experience
Certifications and Licenses Required
  • BLS and ACLS certification
  • Active New Jersey Registered Nurse License
Scheduling Requirements
  • Day Shift, 36 hours per week, 7:00 a.m. – 7:30 p.m.
  • Monday – Friday, with some weekend and holiday rotation
  • Part‑time (PT)
Essential Functions
  • Provide nursing care within the scope of practice defined by the Nurse Practice Act and regulatory standards, and uphold the ANA code of ethics.
  • Ensure safety and practice evidence‑based care by maintaining knowledge, communicating with resource persons, and utilizing available programs.
  • Report identified safety issues such as hazardous environments and medical errors.
  • Maintain knowledge of the patient population served.
  • Supervise and delegate tasks to team members, collaborating with other patient‑care providers.
  • Set and evaluate priorities through interventions with measurable outcomes toward improvement.
  • Act as an individual practitioner and interdisciplinary team manager, utilizing the nursing process to integrate all aspects of care and individualize care plans.
