Registered Nurse (RN), Medical Surgical Unit III (Neuro)

RWJBarnabas Health is seeking a highly dedicated Registered Nurse for our Medical Surgical Unit III at the New Brunswick campus. We focus on patients with neurological diagnoses including stroke, epilepsy, and spinal surgery. Nurses on Medical Surgical Unit III demonstrate nursing expertise, flexibility, resilience, effective communication and interpersonal skills, and teamwork.

Required:

• BSN
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Proficient computer skills

Preferred:

• At least 2 years of acute care RN experience

• BLS and ACLS certification
• Active New Jersey Registered Nurse License

• Day Shift, 24 hours per week, 7:00–7:30 p.m.
• Monday – Friday, with some weekend and holiday rotation
• Part‑time

• The Registered Nurse provides nursing care within the scope of practice defined by the Nurse Practice Act and regulatory standards, and upholds ethical standards of practice as defined by the ANA code of ethics.
• The Registered Nurse promotes safety in practice, embraces evidence‑based practice, maintains current knowledge, and collaborates with the patient care team.
• The Registered Nurse reports identified safety issues such as hazardous environments and medical errors.
• The Registered Nurse demonstrates knowledge of the patient population served.
• The Registered Nurse supervises and delegates tasks to appropriate team members and collaborates with other patient care providers.
• The Registered Nurse prioritizes interventions with measurable outcomes to promote improvement.
• The Registered Nurse utilizes the nursing process to integrate all aspects of care and individualizes the plan of care for each patient.
