CVICU / Registered Nurse

The CVICU / Registered Nurse position involves providing specialized critical care to postoperative cardiac and vascular surgery patients. The role requires advanced clinical skills and the ability to adapt to a fast-paced ICU environment.

Responsibilities:

• Assess and monitor postoperative cardiac patients to ensure optimal recovery.
• Administer medications, including vasoactive drugs and sedatives, following protocols.
• Manage complex equipment such as Impella, IABP, and CRRT devices.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient care plans.
• Float to all ICUs, PACU, ED, and IMC units as required, maintaining flexibility.
• Document patient status, interventions, and outcomes accurately and timely.

Qualifications:

• Active NJ or Compact nursing license at the time of submission.
• Minimum of 2 years of current CVICU experience; SICU experience with CVICU training considered.
• BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required prior to start.
• Prior experience managing post-op open hearts, Swan-Ganz, Temp Pacers, Alines, and Chest Tubes.
• Ability to handle high-acuity patients, including those with fresh heart surgeries and ventilated cases.
• Demonstrated ability to float across ICU units and manage diverse patient loads.
