Registered Nurse – CVICU

CVICU Registered Nurse Opportunity

Seeking experienced CVICU Registered Nurses to provide specialized cardiac care in a fast-paced ICU setting. This role involves managing complex post-operative open-heart patients and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Responsibilities:

• Monitor and assess critically ill cardiac patients, including post-op open heart recovery, ventilated patients, and those with chest tubes.
• Administer medications, perform procedures such as Swan-Ganz catheter placement, and manage devices like Temp Pacers, A-lines, and Chest Tubes.
• Float to various ICU units, PACU, ED, and IMC as needed, ensuring patient safety and continuity of care.
• Document patient status, interventions, and progress accurately in electronic health records.
• Adhere to infection control protocols and maintain compliance with certification and licensure requirements.
• Respond to patient emergencies and collaborate with physicians on treatment plans.

Qualifications:

• Hold an active NJ or Compact RN license at the time of submission.
• Possess at least 2 years of current CVICU experience; SICU experience with training in CVICU may be considered.
• Certification in BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS is required.
• Demonstrate proficiency with post-op open heart procedures, device management, and critical care equipment.
• Ability to float within skillset to all ICU-related units.
• Willing to work day shifts (3×12 hours) and on holidays as required.
