American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Oncology Chemo Certified position requiring an active NJ or Compact license and Chemo certification.
Requirements- Active NJ or Compact RN license required
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Chemo certification (ONS/ONCC) required
- Minimum of 2 years of oncology nursing experience required
- EPIC charting experience required
- Prior charge nurse experience preferred
- Skilled in chemotherapy administration, port access and management, IV therapy/infusions, and central line care
- Experience recognizing and managing oncologic emergencies such as tumor lysis syndrome, anaphylaxis, extravasation injury, and sepsis
- Knowledge of bone marrow transplant and CAR-T therapy care preferred
- Two current professional references required for consideration
- Inpatient oncology unit at a cancer center caring for hematological malignancies, bone marrow transplant, CAR-T therapy, chemo administration, and solid oncology diagnoses
- Patient ratio of 1:4
- Day shift schedule (3x12 hours), 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
- Every other weekend required
- Charting completed in EPIC
- Floating required within skillset across the Morris and Main Campus locations, with ratios based on patient acuity
- Provide direct patient care to oncology patients including chemotherapy administration, symptom management, and psychosocial support
- Coordinate care for patients undergoing bone marrow transplant and CAR-T therapy
- Recognize and manage oncologic emergencies and communicate abnormal lab values
- Assist with pain management including IV push narcotics and PCA pump management
- Must be available to work 2 of 3 major holidays

- Previous RWJBH staff (full-time or PRN) must have been separated from the health system for at least one year to be eligible for this travel assignment
- Open or active background or license issues are not accepted
- Time off requests must be submitted and approved prior to receiving an offer, and cannot be accommodated after start
