American Traveler is hiring an experienced Operating Room RN for a Level I Trauma Center, requiring 3+ years of OR experience and CNOR certification preferred.
Details- Position based in the Main Operating Room of a Level I Trauma Center
- Night shift schedule with 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM to 7:30 AM)
- 13-week assignment length
- Diverse surgical patient mix including ortho trauma and spine, neuro/craniotomy for tumor, robotic surgery (Da Vinci Xi, Da Vinci SP), bariatrics (gastric sleeve and bypass), and laparoscopic/open GYN and general surgery cases
- Strong trauma surgical skills required
- On-call requirement of 8-12 hours per month
- Required to float within skillset with patient ratios based on acuity when floated
- No block scheduling accommodated
- Uses EPIC charting system
- Active NJ or Compact RN license required
- Minimum 3 years of Operating Room experience required
- BLS certification required
- CNOR certification preferred
- Scrub experience required
- Prior travel nursing experience preferred
- Previous charge nurse experience preferred
- Experience with robotic surgery systems (Da Vinci Xi, Da Vinci SP) preferred
- Experience scrubbing and circulating for neuro/craniotomy cases highly preferred
- SSN and DOB required for consideration
- Two current professional references required
- Provide perioperative nursing care across a wide range of surgical specialties including vascular, cardiovascular, neurology, orthopedic, general surgery, GYN, thoracic, and transplant procedures
- Support surgical teams in a high-acuity Level I Trauma Center environment
- Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate
- Must be available to work 2 of 3 major holidays
- Former RWJBH staff (full-time or PRN) must have been separated from the health system for a minimum of 1 year to be eligible for this travel assignment
- Open or active background check hits and license hits are not accepted
- Assignment is expected to be the traveler's primary work commitment
