DescriptionAmerican Traveler is hiring a CVICU RN for a night shift assignment requiring 2 years of current CVICU experience and an active NJ or Compact RN license.
Details- CVICU setting within a hospital environment
- Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts
- Patient ratio of 1:1-2, which may vary when floated
- Patient population includes fresh hearts, ventilated patients, chest tubes, lumbar drains, and chronic/acute renal failure cases
- Floating required to all ICUs, PACU, ED for ICU holding patients, and all IMC units
- Epic EMR experience preferred
- Every other weekend and holiday coverage required
- Active NJ or Compact RN license required
- Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS required;
Stroke CEUs preferred - 2 years of current CVICU experience required; SICU experience may be considered with initial CVICU training
- Experience with Impella, IABP, and CRRT (using Prismax) OR experience with fresh heart cases required
- Required skills include Post Op Open Heart Recovery, Swan-Ganz monitoring, Flo Trac, temporary pacers, arterial lines, and chest tube management
- CVICU experience with fresh open heart procedures such as CABG, MVR, AVR, and TAVR required
- Previous charge experience preferred
- Two current professional references required
- Provide post-surgical cardiac recovery care including management of hemodynamic monitoring, vasoactive drips, and mechanical circulatory support devices
- Perform arterial blood gas interpretation, ventilator management, and continuous IV sedation/paralytic administration
- Manage patients with multisystem organ dysfunction and various cardiac dysrhythmias
- Assist with CRRT, chest tube insertion/removal, and EVD/lumbar drain care as needed
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate
- Previous RWJBH staff must have a minimum 1-year break from the health system before being eligible for travel assignments
- Holiday coverage required for 2 of 3 designated holidays
In compliance with state pay transparency laws, we disclose that the estimated weekly pay range for this role is $2,629 - $2,806. The weekly pay shown in this posting, along with related figures, reflects the lower end of this range for local candidates and higher end of this range for travel candidates. Weekly travel pay includes tax-free stipends per IRS guidelines.
Weekly local pay is fully taxable and therefore lower due to additional employer-paid taxes and related costs.
