American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Cardiovascular ICU position requiring 2+ years of CVICU experience and an active NJ or Compact RN license.
Details- Work in the Cardiovascular ICU (CVICU) of an academic Level I Trauma Center
- Care for patients requiring cardiac surgery, heart transplantation, ventricular assist devices, TAVR, and ECMO
- Patient ratios of 1:1 to 1:2+ depending on census and acuity
- Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (19:00-7:30)
- Every other weekend required
- Floating required within skillset to all ICUs, PACU ICU holds, ED ICU holds, and Cardiac IMC units
- Facility may call off up to 1 shift per 2 weeks
- EPIC EMR used for charting
- Active NJ or Compact RN license required
- Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
- Stroke CEUs preferred
- 2 years of recent CVICU experience required; SICU experience considered if initial training completed in a CVICU
- Experience with fresh post-op cardiac cases including CABG, MVR, AVR, and TAVR required
- Experience with Impella, IABP, and CRRT using Pris Max required
- Skilled in A-lines, central/PICC lines, blood product administration, and IV therapy
- Experience with vented patient care, BiPAP/CPAP, HFNC, ABGs, and ETT/NT suctioning
- Experience managing dysrhythmias, temporary pacers, and 12-lead EKG interpretation
- Experience with CVVHD/CRRT, hypothermia protocol/Arctic Sun, and lumbar drains
- EPIC charting experience required
- Prior charge experience preferred
- Provide direct care to post-cardiac surgery and critically ill cardiovascular patients
- Perform continuous monitoring and titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips
- Manage patients with multisystem organ dysfunction/failure
- Navy blue scrubs required
- Winter holiday coverage required (must work or be on-call for 1 of 2 or 2 of 3 of Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's)
