American Traveler is hiring an experienced NICU RN for a 13-week night shift assignment requiring 2+ years of Level III NICU experience and an active NJ or compact RN license.
Details- 13-week travel assignment on night shift, 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00-7:30
- 21-bed Level IV NICU with 16-bed Special Care Nursery (SCN)
- Cares for neonates 29-34 weeks and >34 weeks gestation
- Will not attend high-risk deliveries
- Patient ratios of 1:2 in NICU and 1:3-4 in SCN
- EPIC charting system experience required
- Every other weekend requirement (Saturday and Sunday)
- Floating required within skillset to Newborn, Peds, and PICU for appropriate assignments
- Active NJ or compact RN license required
- Current BLS and NRP certifications required; PALS preferred
- 2+ years of current Level III NICU experience required
- EPIC charting experience required
- Proficient in general NICU care including developmental care, phlebotomy, thermoregulation, blood glucose monitoring, phototherapy, isolation/PPE, and sepsis workup
- Experience with lines and blood products including A-line management, central/implanted line care, IV starts/maintenance, and UAC/UVC
- Experience administering neonatal medications including anti-seizure, antibiotics/antivirals, IV vasopressors, steroids, surfactants, and insulin with neonatal dose calculations
- Experience with GI/nutrition care including breastfeeding support, breast milk handling, and oral/NG/NJ tube placement and feedings
- Respiratory care experience including Bubble CPAP, HFNC, chest tubes, ETT/NT suctioning, Vapotherm, and vent management (AC/PC/SIMV/CPAP/BiPAP/PEEP)
- Charge experience, jet vents, oscillators, ECMO, Criti Cool body cooling, and neonatal transport experience preferred
- Must work or provide on-call coverage for at least 1 of 2 or 2 of 3 winter holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's)
- Facility may call off up to 1 shift per 2 weeks
- Locals accepted at the same rate

- Former RWJBH employees (FT or PRN) must be separated from the system for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
