Position Details

Specialty Food Project Assistant – Rutgers Food Innovation Center South – Non‑exempt hourly position.

Salary: $25.00 per hour.

• Ensure judging samples are timed to remain hot or cold, maintaining quality and safety standards.
• Direct and coordinate others to assist with judging activities and logistics.
• Support scheduling and preparation for SOFI Awards judging.
• Prepare, organize, and maintain materials for judging activities.
• Track project progress and create charts to monitor status until completion.
• Ensure judging areas meet food safety and operational standards.
• Communicate effectively with team members and participants.
• Unpack, store, and organize incoming shipments for judging.
• Manage project inventory, ensuring accurate tracking and availability of supplies.
• Coordinate timing of hold and cold food.

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Strong organizational and computer skills, including data tracking, inventory management, and chart creation.
• Ability to work independently, take direction, and lead others.
• Attention to detail and strong time‑management skills.
• Restaurant kitchen management experience.

Preferred:
Two years of related experience in restaurant kitchen management.

Flexible daytime availability; location:
Bridgeton, NJ, Cumberland County.

Full‑time, up to 40 hours per week, Day shift, fully on‑site.
