A Postdoctoral Associate is available in the laboratory of Dr. Igor Shmarakov at Rutgers University Animal Sciences Department. The role focuses on the molecular basis of retinoid metabolism and signaling in lung injury models. Responsibilities include designing and executing animal and cell culture experiments, performing qRT‑PCR, immunoblotting, lipid extraction and analysis, and analyzing bulk and single‑cell RNA‑sequencing data. The candidate will interact with the Rutgers research community and contribute to publications.
Qualifications- Ph.D. in biochemistry, cell biology, physiology, or related field.
- Strong communication skills and a publication record consistent with postdoctoral level.
- Experience with animal lung injury models, lung cell isolation, lung organoid cultures, immunofluorescence, qRT‑PCR, immunoblot, lipid extraction, HPLC, and bulk or single‑cell RNA‑seq data analysis.
- Knowledge of lipid metabolism, signaling, and respiratory toxicology is preferred.
Minimum $63,968 per calendar year, commensurate with NIH and Rutgers guidelines.
