Position Summary
Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Postdoctoral Associate within Cancer Pharmacology at the Rutgers Cancer Institute.
The primary purpose of the position is to conduct research investigating the characterization of oncogenic and tumor suppressor enhancer regions, and to dissect the interplay between metabolism and epigenetics in T‑cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (T‑ALL) using mouse models under the supervision of the Principal Investigator. The Associate will perform experiments, laboratory techniques, and prepare written reports, grant proposals, and oral presentations.
Responsibilities- Conduct research experiments to understand the role and mechanisms of oncogenic and tumor suppressor enhancers and the interplay between metabolism and epigenetics to unveil new therapeutic strategies.
- Work with mouse models in vivo and perform FACS analyses.
- Prepare written reports of the research experiments.
- Prepare grant proposals based on the research conducted.
- Give oral presentations of the research.
- Assist with instructing and training students, fellows, lower‑level professionals, and technicians in laboratory techniques and instrumentation.
Minimum Education and Experience
- PhD and/or MD in a relevant science, finishing training (post‑residency/fellowship), who wish to prepare for careers in academic medicine.
- Consideration for interview will also be given to applicants who are completing their PhD and/or MD in a relevant science.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Experience with FACS analyses or ability to learn this technique.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- Computer literate with proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint.
