Research Teaching Specialist IV (Biostatistics and Epidemiology)
Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Research Teaching Specialist IV in the EPI & Health Outcome Department at the Rutgers Cancer Institute. Under the direction of the Principal Investigator, the Research Teaching Specialist IV provides data management and programming support to fulfill the needs of faculty conducting cancer epidemiology research. This position reports to the Chief of Cancer Epidemiology and Health Outcomes Section.

Work Arrangement: This position requires a fully on-site work arrangement.

Responsibilities- Carrying out various data cleaning, management, and programming tasks related to research activities.
- Assisting in all phases of research studies as assigned by Principal Investigators, communicating with primary data collection staff to resolve discrepancies.
- Assisting in organizing and conducting specialized research activities for particular projects.
- Instructing and training students, fellows, and research staff in data analysis and related projects, as directed.
- Conducting data processing and statistical analyses.
- Developing and maintaining analytical datasets, syntax, and data dictionaries for research projects.
- Master’s Degree in Biostatistics or a related field, or Bachelor’s Degree plus one year of related research experience.
- Experience and demonstrated knowledge in biostatistics and epidemiology with programming statistical software.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Computer literacy with proficiency in database and reporting tools such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Experience in data management and/or analysis using statistical software (SAS, R, or STATA) in epidemiologic/population science projects.
Physical Demands: Standing, sitting, walking, talking, hearing; lifting up to 25 pounds; no special vision requirements.
Work Environment: Office environment; moderate noise.
SalaryMinimum Salary: $54,196;
Mid Range Salary: $64,635;
Maximum Salary: $76,450.
