Postdoctoral Associate for the Center for Pharmacoepidemiology and Treatment Science (PETS)
Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Postdoctoral Associate for the Center for Pharmacoepidemiology and Treatment Science (PETS) within the Institute for Health, Health Care Policy, and Aging Research (IFH). The selected candidate will collaborate with an established Principal Investigator to conduct quantitative research on substance use and mental health treatment outcomes across the life course. Responsibilities include analyzing data from administrative and population sources, developing peer‑reviewed manuscripts, presenting scientific findings, and contributing to grant development.

Salary range: $75,000 – $82,000 annually, to be determined by qualifications, experience, and funding.
Location:
Rutgers University – New Brunswick, NJ.
- Doctoral degree in epidemiology, social and behavioral health sciences, or a related field.
- Proficiency in R or Stata and experience working with quantitative data analysis.
- Record of peer‑reviewed publications.
- Comprehensive understanding of statistical concepts and methods.
- Proficiency in at least one programming language (e.g., R, Stata).
- Excellent quantitative analytical skills, particularly in longitudinal modeling, administrative data analyses, and causal inference methods.
- Understanding of HIPAA regulations and/or Human Subjects regulations for human subjects’ research.
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
- Strong interest in health equity, substance use, or psychiatric epidemiology.
- Experience conducting research on substance use, mass incarceration, and public health.
- Interest in substance use and mental health treatment need and uptake across the life course, and structural drivers of health.
