Clinical Research, Research Scientist
Associate Director for Clinical Research (Associate Professor - Professor Rank)
Lead and coordinate all clinical research activities across the Rutgers Cancer Institute (RCI), including oversight of the Office of Human Research Services, clinical disease‑specific groups, shared resources, and cross‑program collaborations.
Responsibilities- Plan and evaluate clinical investigations.
- Develop, integrate, and coordinate clinical scientists into cohesive groups.
- Collaborate with the Deputy Director for Administration & Planning to oversee the Office of Human Research Services.
- Ensure shared resources support clinical science programs.
- Promote inter‑ and intra‑programmatic collaborations.
- Assist in recruiting new clinical science members.
- Participate in planning the Annual Scientific Retreat.
- Review all clinical research protocol budgets.
- Link basic and population science proposals to the clinical science base.
- Maintain quality and scientific integrity of clinical research.
- Develop a clinical research strategy across the service line, promote research across all hospital sites, and lead efforts to optimize trial portfolio and patient enrollment.
- MD or equivalent.
- International recognition.
- Proven leadership experience supporting clinical research programs.
- Record of a clinical research program and strong publication record in collaborative research.
- Proven ability to attract and sustain national cancer research funding.
- Strong teaching and mentorship skills.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
