Position Overview
Genomic Instability and Cancer Genetics (GICG) Research Program at Rutgers Cancer Institute seeks outstanding investigators focused on mechanisms of genomic instability, cancer genome evolution, and translation into clinical applications. Applicants for faculty positions at Assistant or Associate Professor level, tenure track or tenured, depending on qualifications and experience.
Roles include establishing/advancing an innovative, independent research program addressing cancer biology and genomic instability, integrating mechanistic, computational, and translational approaches. Faculty will also teach medical students and residents and mentor.
Responsibilities- Develop and lead independent research program on genomic instability and cancer genetics.
- Publish in high‑impact journals and secure independent peer‑reviewed funding.
- Collaborate across interdisciplinary teams and integrate basic, translational, preclinical approaches.
- Participate in teaching medical students, residents, including lectures and mentorship.
- Contribute to the growth of the GICG program and Rutgers Cancer Institute.
- PhD, MD, or MD/PhD in a relevant discipline with completed postdoctoral or equivalent research training.
- Strong publication record in cancer genetics, genomics, or related fields.
- History or strong potential for independent peer‑reviewed funding.
- Outstanding academic credentials.
- Desired:
Experience in DNA repair, chromosome segregation, tumor microenvironment interactions, and cancer predisposition.
