Position:
Postdoctoral Associate Researcher – Taylor Lab

Department:
Psychology

Salary: $66,000 – $69,000 annually.

Full‑time, 1-year appointment from June to August 2026, with relocation assistance up to $1,000.

Responsibilities

Design and conduct experimental work, including background research and literature reviews, mixed‑methods research designs (including using VR technology), data collection and analysis, and writing papers, reports, and dissemination pieces.

Assist the Lab Manager in coordinating the general progress of SSI‑VR Lab research activities.

Support PI (Dr. Valerie Jones Taylor) in studies related to VR interracial interactions in academic and social contexts.

Qualifications

Minimum:
Ph.D. in Psychology or related field with significant training in quantitative, experimental social psychology. If Ph.D. is incomplete, must complete dissertation with graduation by the end of Summer 2026.

Position Summary

Postdoctoral Researcher for the Stereotyping and Social Interactions Virtual Reality (SSI‑VR) Lab, focusing on how social identity threat affects interracial interactions, performance, perception, and evaluation, and on reducing social identity threat to improve cross‑race interactions, performance, and social justice/collective action.
