Position Overview

The position involves complex experimental research on RNA‑targeting CRISPR‑Cas systems, requiring technical expertise and independent problem‑solving. The role includes designing experiments, optimizing Next‑Generation Sequencing workflows, troubleshooting, and contributing to publications, conference presentations, and future grant proposals.
QualificationsEducation
:
PhD in Microbiology, Genetics, Molecular Biology, or a closely related field required by start date.
Experience
:
Background in microbial genetics and cultivation; molecular cloning; protein expression and characterization; DNA and RNA purification and analysis; protein‑nucleic acid interactions. Ability to work independently, well‑organized, a strong team player with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience with Next‑Generation Sequencing, including library preparation for DNA and RNA sequencing, Illumina runs, and data analysis.
- Experience in biochemistry and structural analysis of RNA‑processing enzymes.
- Proficient with common microbiology, molecular biology, and biochemistry techniques, including gel electrophoresis, RNA isolation, PCR, autoclaving, and protein purification systems.
- Familiar with Microsoft Office, Snap Gene, Graph Pad, and both Apple and Windows computers.
Occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds; work in cold or warm environments; long periods of standing or sitting.

Estimated annual salary: $63,968.00 (subject to qualifications, experience, available funding, and market benchmarks).
