Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Research Project Assistant at the Center for Pharmacoepidemiology and Treatment Science (PETS). The Research Project Assistant will have the opportunity to work in a collegial work environment to support innovative, multidisciplinary studies. The position will directly report to the Center's Director of Sponsored Research and will provide support services to PETS faculty and project managers at the Center by assisting with research proposals and ongoing research projects, and by supporting the day-to-day administrative operations of the Center.

The Research Project Assistant will also assist in research in the areas of pharmacoepidemiology, medical devices, and use of real-world data. They will contribute to impactful research studies focusing on medical devices, including the drafting and implementation of research protocols, publication in scientific journals, and have opportunities to present methods and research findings.

Among the key duties of the position are the following:

  • Conducts comprehensive literature review to support research projects and grant proposals.
  • Provides assistance with required regulatory documentation (e.g., Institutional Review Board, Data Use Agreements).
  • Provides basic support in the creation of code lists and data tables and conduct of data analyses as directed by Center faculty and staff.
  • Assists with ongoing project support under the guidance of the faculty PI or project manager, including, but not limited to, scheduling and taking of minutes, providing assistance with reporting to funders, submission of procurement materials, and engaging with coinvestigators, consultants, and other collaborators.
  • Assists with grant submissions, protocol development, and manuscript development through drafting of passages under guidance from faculty, the review of formatting, spelling and grammar, the creation of figures and tables, and the submission of conference abstracts and manuscripts.
  • Provides general administrative support in support of PETS faculty, Center leadership, and PETS operations.

Work Arrangement
- Consistent with the current application of Rutgers Policy 60.3.22 or the applicable provisions of relevant collective negotiations agreements, this position may be eligible for a hybrid work arrangement. Qualifications

Minimum Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in a related scientific field or discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and/or relevant research experience.

- Strong work ethic, sound judgment, and effective problem-solving skills. Ability to be organized, collaborative, adaptable, and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment while managing competing priorities. Excellent written and oral communication skills are required. Understanding of, and commitment to, the highest standards of research ethics. Computer literate and have a strong working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience in research. Basic statistical knowledge. Experience with performing data analyses.
