Posting SummaryRutgers is seeking a Research Scientist II for the Institute for Nicotine and Tobacco Studies (INTS), located in New Brunswick, NJ. Under the direction of INTS Faculty/Principal Investigator, this position will assist in the design and conduct of specialized tobacco research, using judgement to adapt methods and techniques. The Research Scientist II is responsible for managing research studies, including design, analysis, and reporting.
The position may oversee the work of student research assistants.
- Serves as Project Lead or senior research staff on tobacco and nicotine-related research studies, including supporting the design, development, and implementation of research protocols, followed by appropriate reports, recommendations and conclusions.
- Independently conducts advanced quantitative and qualitative data analyses using large, complex datasets related to tobacco use, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and appropriate interpretation of findings.
- Coordinates and oversees data management activities, including development and implementation of data quality assurance and control procedures to ensure integrity and reliability of study data, including large-scale commercial sales and market surveillance datasets.
- Contributes to the development of grant applications.
- Generates, interprets, and presents statistical findings, translating complex data into clear reports, presentations, and actionable recommendations for scientific, clinical, and public health audiences.
