Posting Summary

Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Research Project Assistant for the Institute for Health, Health Care Policy and Aging Research. The primary purpose of this position is to support a broad portfolio of mixed methods health services research with particular focus on mental health and addiction treatment services and outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Performs primary data collection (e.g., surveys, interviews).
  • Handles data management and analysis.
  • Manages research administrative logistics for ongoing studies and literature reviews for academic manuscripts and abstracts.
Qualifications
  • Minimum Education:

    Bachelor’s degree in a related scientific field, public health, or an equivalent combination of education and/or relevant research experience.
  • Social & Behavioral Research CITI Certification.
  • Demonstrated effective written and verbal communication, interpersonal, and client service skills.
  • Strong computer proficiency, including experience with Microsoft Office Suite, REDCap survey software, and Zotero citation management software.
  • Experience conducting or supporting research involving populations with mental illness and addiction.
  • Ability to accurately record, maintain, and manage data in both computerized and non‑computerized formats.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Microsoft Office Equipment, database software, citation management software.
Compensation and Benefits

Salary Range: $52,602.48 – $76,975.48 per year, with mid‑range $64,788.98.

Work Shift:

Consistent with the current application of Rutgers Policy 60.3.22 or the applicable provisions of relevant collective negotiations agreements, this position may be eligible for a hybrid work arrangement. Flexible work arrangements are not permanent, subject to change or discontinuation, and contingent on the employee receiving approval in the Flex Work@RU Application System.

Immunization Requirements

Under Policy 100.3.1 Immunization Policy for Covered Individuals, if employment will commence during Flu Season, Rutgers University may require certain prospective employees to provide proof that they are vaccinated against Seasonal Influenza for the current Flu Season, unless the University has granted the individual a medical or religious exemption. Failure to provide proof will result in rescission of a candidate’s offer of employment or disciplinary action up to and including termination.
