Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a part-time Research Associate for the Education and Employment Research Center (EERC) in the School of Management and Labor Relations (SMLR). The selected candidate will work with the research project managers and will contribute directly to qualitative and quantitative research activities related to education and workforce development. The candidate should have the ability to conduct assigned research related activities independently, while receiving guidance on project priorities and deliverables.

• Assist with scheduling and coordinating interviews.
• Conduct interviews under the guidance of senior researchers.
• Review interview transcriptions and ensure data quality.
• Support the development of codebooks.
• Conduct qualitative analysis using NVivo, under the guidance and direction of EERC senior project teams.
• Provide research teams with necessary research project datasets.
• Provide support to EERC research project managers by conducting quantitative and qualitative analyses using research tools including Excel, NVivo, Qualtrics, and STATA.
• Revise state policy scan briefs related to noncredit workforce education.
• Assist with developing and drafting project deliverables, including blogs, briefs, reports and presentations.
• Present research findings to internal project teams.
• Attend and contribute to internal research team meetings, strategic planning, and project development discussions.

Nonexempt

$37 - $42 per hour

The final salary offer may be determined by several factors, including, but not limited to, the candidate's qualifications, experience, and expertise, and availability of department or grant funds to support the position. Part Time

19.5 hours per week

Consistent with the current application of Rutgers Policy 60.3.22 or the applicable provisions of relevant collective negotiations agreements, this position may be eligible for a hybrid work arrangement. Flexible work arrangements are not permanent, subject to change or discontinuation, and contingent on the employee receiving approval in the Flex Work@RU Application System.

• Bachelor's degree in education, public policy, sociology, business or a related field plus at least five (5) years of experience conducting social science research, or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
