Job Description

The Cafeteria Food Service Worker is responsible for preparing, serving, and ensuring the quality of meals provided to students and staff in a timely, efficient, and sanitary manner. This role supports the overall food service operations within the cafeteria, maintaining compliance with health and safety regulations.

Hourly Cafeteria Worker

• Prepare and serve food items according to established menus and portion sizes.
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the kitchen, serving areas, and dining space.
• Follow food safety guidelines and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
• Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.
• Assist with inventory management, including receiving and storing food supplies.
• Provide friendly and professional customer service to students, staff, and visitors.
• Work collaboratively with team members to ensure smooth cafeteria operations.
• Report any equipment malfunctions or safety hazards to supervisors promptly.

• Previous experience in food service or cafeteria work preferred but not required.
• Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks such as lifting and carrying supplies.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a team.
