The Regional Sales Manager (Independent Contractor) plays a critical leadership role in driving sales, expanding market presence, and supporting the growth and performance of multiple Territory Sales Representatives across the NJ/Philly – Mid‑Atlantic region. This individual will serve as both a regional leader and—when applicable—a direct territory manager, developing strategic initiatives that accelerate sales growth while ensuring LW Flooring’s values and service standards are maintained.
The ideal candidate brings strong industry knowledge, team leadership experience, and a proven track record in territory management and B2B flooring sales.
Key Responsibilities- Oversee and support multiple Territory Sales Representatives across assigned Mid‑Atlantic territories.
- Recruit, coach, motivate, and mentor sales reps to ensure performance targets are met or exceeded.
- Conduct regular ride‑alongs, performance reviews, and sales strategy sessions with reps.
- Ensure alignment between corporate strategic priorities and territory‑level execution.
- Facilitate communication between field teams and LW Flooring leadership.
- Develop and implement regional sales strategies to drive revenue growth, expand market share, and achieve quarterly/annual targets.
- Analyze market conditions, identify business opportunities, and adjust regional strategies based on competitive trends and customer needs.
- Work collaboratively with management to establish sales forecasts and contribute to territory planning and product positioning strategies.
- Represent LW Flooring at trade shows, regional events, and industry networking functions to enhance brand visibility.
- Manage a designated sales territory with full responsibility for sales performance, customer relationships, and revenue growth (if assigned a personal territory).
- Execute all standard responsibilities expected of a Territory Sales Representative, including lead generation, client engagement, product presentations, and customer service.
- Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key accounts, distribution partners, retailers, contractors, and designers throughout the region.
- Support reps with escalated customer needs, negotiations, and major account presentations.
- Ensure consistent delivery of exceptional customer service across all territories.
- Review and analyze rep‑submitted reports, forecasts, KPIs, and field feedback; provide actionable guidance.
- Prepare regional performance summaries and communicate results to senior leadership.
- Ensure the team remains current on LW Flooring products, policies, promotions, pricing, and market changes.
- 5+ years of proven success in flooring sales, building materials, or related B2B wholesale sales.
- 2–3+ years of team or territory management experience (multi‑territory preferred).
- Strong knowledge of flooring types, installation methods, competitive landscape, and distributor/retailer dynamics.
- Demonstrated ability to coach, motivate, and lead sales professionals.
- Exceptional communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Self‑motivated, results‑driven, entrepreneurial, and able to operate independently as an IC.
