Job Summary
:
The RCSB Protein Data Bank at Rutgers University in Piscataway offers an opening for a Biological Structure Annotation Specialist (Biocurator) to analyze, curate, and validate macromolecular structures from the expanding structural biology community.

• Provide expert deposition, validation, biocuration, and remediation services to data depositors worldwide.
• Maintain data quality and uniformity within the PDB archive.
• Develop and promote community-endorsed data standards for structural biology data.
• Analyze, curate, and validate macromolecular structures from the PDB community.
• Participate in projects with significant scientific impact, communicating daily with researchers and engaging in outreach and training activities.

• PhD in a relevant field; experience in structural biology required.
• Strong knowledge of cryo-electron microscopy (3
  
  DEM) to curate and validate structures.
• Experience with small molecule chemistry is a plus.
• Experience in bioinformatics, cheminformatics, and computer scripting is advantageous.
• Experience with Linux computer systems is advantageous.

Salaried at $93,077-$103,077 per year.
