Bristol-Myers Squibb Company is hiring a(n) Senior Scientist, Mass Spectrometry (in New Brunswick, NJ).

• Independently design, develop, and execute methods capable of trace-level, quantitative analysis of impurities in drug substance and drug product using innovative and robust LC/high-resolution mass spectrometry workflows.
• Apply high resolution MS and MS/MS techniques for the structural characterization of impurities and degradants arising in small molecule drug compounds.
• Characterization of biologic therapeutics using mass spectrometry driven peptide mapping analysis to support pharmaceutical formulation development activities.
• Involved with instrument maintenance and user training.
• Influence scientists and initiatives to improve efficiency, productivity, and evolution of our structure elucidation capabilities.
• Engage in active discussions within team meetings and deliver high quality data within timelines.
• Collaborate with other subject matter experts to continually develop project knowledge, meet project goals, and enable capabilities within the department.
• Presentation of scientific data, drafting of expert technical reports, and representation of the analytical function in matrix team meetings.
• Expansion of skills in techniques beyond the primary expertise of mass spectrometry, such as NMR, to become a more complete structure elucidation scientist.
• Telecommuting permitted on a hybrid schedule as determined by the employer.

• Employer will accept a Require PhD degree or foreign equivalent degree in Chemistry, or a related field, and one (1) year of related work experience.
• Must have one (1) year of experience with/in:
  Developing and running mass spectrometry-based quantitation assays that are capable of trace level analysis;
• Must have one (1) year of experience with/in:
  Analyzing impurities and/or degradants using LC-MS, with accurate mass, and MS/MS for the characterization and assignment of unknown chemical structures;
• Must have one (1) year of experience with/in:
  Operation and trouble shooting of a variety of modern Thermo-Fisher Scientific mass spectrometers including data analysis with Xcalibur.
• Must have six (6) months of experience with/in:
  Utilizing Python, R, and MATLAB languages for data analysis and visualization.
