Mechanic

Seeks Mechanic candidates for a full‑time position within the Department of Public Works. This hire will assist the Supervising Mechanic with servicing the City of New Brunswick’s vehicle fleet and its various components, including repairs, maintenance, cleaning, rewiring, rebuilds, and safety inspections. Candidates will also help coordinate insurance and repair coordination following motor vehicle crashes, annual vehicle registrations, winterization of vehicles, inventory, and fleet‑wide upgrades as assigned by the Director of Public Works.

• Minimum Requirements:
  
  Successful completion of one (1) year of training in automotive technology at an accredited community college or vocational school; a minimum of two (2) years of experience in the maintenance and repair of various types of motor vehicles and/or construction equipment; and a valid NJ driver’s license.
• Desired
  
  Qualifications:
  
  Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) Certification and/or a CDL Class B license. NJ Residency is required.
