Utilities Operations Worker
Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Utilities Operations Worker for the Division of Institutional Planning & Operations (IP&O). Under general supervision, will be required to perform manual duties which include but are not limited to: excavation hand work, scaffolding erection, general maintenance, painting, trench shoring installation, and working with other trades when required. Will also be required to have general operational knowledge of sewer jetting and vacuum unit, skid steer, trencher, compaction equipment, telehandler, and snow removal equipment.
Among the key duties of this position are the following:
Responsible for maintaining a safe working environment and reporting all issues to supervisor. Will be lead person for housekeeping on sites and shop locations.

Qualifications
Minimum Education and Experience
- High school/vocational school education or equivalent. A minimum of three (3) years documented experience in utility and excavation experience. Will be required to successfully complete the Rutgers Defensive Driving Course. Position requires drug and alcohol testing in accordance with federal law.
Certifications/Licenses - CDLlicense with A endorsement
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Good communication skills, the ability to follow detailed instructions from other trades when required. The ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds, must be able to follow and understand utility mark out designations.
