The Social Worker possesses a comprehensive knowledge base established within a sound social work theoretical framework,

The Social Worker provides direct and indirect care to a specific patient population within the assigned service using advanced social work assessment skills, specialty expertise, and age appropriate interventions,

The Social Worker positively impacts LOS through the early identification of cases, participation on OPTIMAP task forces, use of purposeful strategies to develop discharge plans and problem resolution,

The Social Worker promotes interdisciplinary team collaboration,

The Social Worker promotes staff and patient education, and supports research,

All activities and responsibilities of the Social Worker conform to social work professional standards and hospital guidelines and are consistent with the mission of the Hospital,
