Salesforce Developer

Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Salesforce Developer to support the Office of Information Technology. The successful candidate will work under a Project Manager/Associate Director for Enterprise Application Services to provide analytical and programming support for the Enrollment Management office and other university administrative and academic offices within the enterprise  environment.

• Develop solutions within the Salesforce or CRM platform or software that integrates with Salesforce to meet stakeholder requirements for existing and new functionality.
• Collaborate with project managers, business analysts and other developers to design, develop, test and deploy solutions including dashboards, interfaces, and integrations.
• Assist with necessary system upgrades in all Salesforce environments, testing all impacted areas and workflows.
• Work with the institutional management team to establish suitable processes to support administrative, development, and change management activities.
• Assist in training of new users, and grow the  skill set across the organization.
• Engage members of the user community to define and document development requirements.
• Assist with the evaluation, scope and completion of new development requests.
• Understand and adhere to Rutgers' compliance standards as they appear in RBHS's Corporate Compliance Policy, Code of Conduct and Conflict of Interest Policy.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Education and Experience

• Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field.
• Minimum of two (2) years of relevant system development experience.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Ability to build custom apps and objects, formula fields, workflows, custom views, and other content of intermediate complexity.
• Programming experience with SQL, SFDC toolkit, Visual Force, and Apex.
• Knowledge of REST and SOAP APIs.
• Ability to assess the impact of new requirements on all upstream and downstream applications, systems and processes.
• Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines, handle and prioritize simultaneous requests, and manage laterally and upwards.
• Ability to work with changing priorities and with multiple projects.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with CSS, Java, JavaScript, DHTML, HTML, XML, AJAX, jQuery.
• Experience with Agile development framework.
• Salesforce certification as Platform Developer 1.

• Hybrid position – required to be on site in Somerset, NJ 2 days per week.
• Standing, sitting, walking, talking or hearing.
• No special vision requirements.
• Office environment with moderate noise.
